Creating Printed Music with MuseScore

`The recent and sudden discontinuation of MakeMusic's Finale line of notation software, a  left many musicians and composers looking for an alternative tool set.  While MakeMusic recommended Dorico to Finale users, what's to prevent Steinberg or Avid (the maker of Sibelius) from doing just what MakeMusic did?

The alternative is open source software.  This site will show you how to use one of those open source alternatives, MuseScore, to create basic music notation. First, you'll learn how to create your blank score. Then, you'll learn how to enter notes. Finally you'll learn how to add text , dynamics and articulations and create parts from your score.
